Manchester United played out a goalless draw in the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford, despite having the better of the opportunities on Sunday.
The biggest chance of the first-half fell to Alejandro Garnacho, after he failed to make a clean contact with Diogo Dalot's cross.
The start of the second-half was slower than the first, with City looking to control possession, while United wanted to sit in. However, United picked up the pace in the final 20 or so minutes, looking to take the game to City.
The home side had a number of opportunities that ended up being blocked or intercepted by the City defence. United came close in the second-half after a great cutback found Joshua Zirkzee, yet his left-footed shot was excellently saved by Ederson.
United continued to push for a winner, yet they could not find the target, and they ended up coming away with only a point.
Here are our player ratings for the 196th Manchester Derby:
Andre Onana 6
Onana was largely untroubled during the game aside from brilliant stops from a thumping Omar Marmoush volley and a free-kick from the Egyptian. Frustrated the crowd with some of his distribution.
Noussair Mazraoui 6
Produced an improved display from the one in midweek. He was comfortable for large parts of the game, until Jeremy Doku came on and gave him some trouble, yet the Moroccan stood firm.
Harry Maguire 6
Started off shakily, hitting a sloppy pass that went unpunished. Aside from that, had a relatively comfortable return to action, before being taken off for Victor Lindelof.
Leny Yoro 7
Solid throughout the game, keeping the City forwards quiet, with Phil Foden getting no change from the Frenchman. Tidy with his possession.
Diogo Dalot 8
One of United's standout players on the day, and probably one of his best performances in a United shirt. Offered plenty of threat whenever he went forward, crossing brilliantly for Garnacho in the first-half, and he was solid defensively.
Manuel Ugarte 5
Seemed nervous on the ball and looked like he is still struggling to pick up form following his injury a few weeks ago. Offered some threat on the attack, particularly with a clean volley just before he went off.
Casemiro 7
Continued to start games under Amorim and he was solid again. Made a record 11 tackles in the game, and the slow pace of the encounter seemed to suit him. Will probably start in midweek.
Patrick Dorgu 5
He was disappointing at the start, as some of his crossing was erratic and his shooting was wasteful. Improved as the game wore on, with a great ball to Zirkzee, but he needed to be more adventurous with the ball.
Bruno Fernandes 8
A level above the rest yet again. Created the most chances (3) and final third entries (6) for United, and also won possession the most (7) and completed the most passes (39). Drove United on and was often the only source of creativity.
Alejandro Garnacho 6
Heavily involved, as United constantly looked for him to offer some attacking threat with his pace. Missed a great chance in the first-half, and seemed to get tired in the second. Yet he continued to push forward and be his industrious self.
Rasmus Hojlund 4
Barely got involved in the play as he was well-marshalled by Josko Gvardiol. These final few weeks will be vital for him to show that he is worth his place in the squad next season.
Substitutions
Victor Lindelof 6
Came on for Maguire on the hour-mark, and was practically untroubled by the City attack.
Joshua Zirkzee 6
Provided much more threat going forward than Hojlund, and came very close to scoring a winner, with his shot being saved by Ederson. Still does not look like he is the striker United need.
Mason Mount 6
Came on and was very lively throughout his time on the pitch. Had a powerful shot blocked, and received a booking almost immediately after coming on.
Manager - Ruben Amorim: 7
Set the team up with the intention to hit City on the counter, and it was looking like it was going to work wonders for large parts of the game, with United overloading the wings and looing to use Garnacho's pace.
Amorim remains unbeaten against Pep Guardiola this season, having won twice (once with Sporting CP) and now drawing. Definitely plenty of things to build on for the Portuguese manager.
Up next is the first-leg of the UEFA Europa League Quarter-finals, as United travel to Lyon on Thursday.
